Keiko Fukuda, a female judo expert who demonstrated her martial-art skills during the Tokyo Olympics, joined the women department of Kodokan in 1935 when she was only 21. She went on to establish the San Francisco Female Judo Club in the U.S.A. for the international promotion of judo. In those days it was extremely difficult for women to get high ranks in any kind of martial arts. In this inspirational film, Fukuda overcomes adversity, stays faithful to her ideals that women should "be strong, be gentle, be beautiful," and works towards the international popularity of judo.
