Etsuko runs her Café Cape in an idyllic small town where Mt. Fuji can be viewed across the water. Her nephew Koji lives in a shack next to the café and devotes his time to helping Etsuko. Townspeople frequent the café to have a cup of Etsuko's coffee, and all seems peaceful and quiet. One day the daughter of Tokusaburo, one of the regulars at the café, comes home from the big city for the first time in many years, while another one of the long-time customers of over 3 decades might be relocating to Osaka for his business. The quiet life at the café is not without its changes. Actress Sayuri Yoshinaga starred in this film which marked her producing debut. This serene, meditative piece about the bond between the departed and those who are left behind is also about life in Japan after its Great Earthquake and tsunami disasters.
