AIWFF2014 Short Film Competition Award Winners

We have screened 10 nominated films on September 6 at AIWFF short film competition!

And this year's winning films for the Short Film Competition are...

We've created one more prize for the Short Film Competition!

There are now TWO runner-up awards with a cash prize of JPY100,000 each! That is; the total JPY400,000 will be presented to the winners!!

The call for entries for AIWFF 2014 short film competition is now closed.
We've received a diverse array of films of entries across different genres from all over the world! Thank you very much for all submissions!
The details of the nominated films will be announced in August!

We are accepting short films which are directed by women, in all genres, with no career or age restrictions. The works of the finalists will be screened at AIWFF2014. There will be additional prizes for the winners. We're keen to see entries from all across the world!

Entry Requirements

• The director of the film must be female.
• Films must not exceed 30 minutes in length.
• Must be films completed after 1st April, 2012.
• Films of any genre and any theme are accepted, regardless of production country and winning award.
• Entries to be submitted by DVD-Video (NTSC).
• DV-Cam, DVD-Video or Blu-ray Disc is eligible as screening materials for the nominated works.
• English subtitles (or Japanese subtitles) are required for non-Japanese language films. Finalists will be also required to submit the English text of the script with time code if the original language of the film is not Japanese.
• Films must not be in breach of any copyright, including music or sound contained in your entry.
• No entry fees are required.
• Please note in advance, the Festival's organizers may make a copy of DVD screeners for review.

Entry for Pre-Selection

• The applicants of pre-selection must fill out the entry form (download from the bottom link) and send/bring it together with your DVD screener to the following address no later than 5 July 2014:

• All the submitted documents and materials will not be returned.
• All expenses for the shipping of materials to AIWFF must be borne by applicants.
• Applicants may submit multiple entries.

Prizes

• Approximately ten finalists selected for screening at AIWFF2014 will be notified via e-mail by mid August 2014.
• The result of Pre-Selection will be announced through website of the Festival as well.
• During the festival, AIWFF will award the following prizes in accordance with the decision of the Competition Jury:
  - Grand Prize
  with cash prize of JPY 200,000
  - Runner-up Prize
  with cash prize of JPY 50,000
  with cash prize of JPY 100,000 to 2 films
