Akira Kurosawa's social drama which addresses the fear of radioactivity. It is noteworthy that Toshiro Mifune was 35 of age when he played a 70 year old. Kiichi Nakajima, a foundry owner, is planning to move to Brazil to escape from Japan because he believes that nuclear attack is imminent and Japan will be affected by radioactive contamination. Kiichi wants to sell all his belongings, and his family decides to have him ruled quasi-incompetent. But, Kiichi, who tries to carry on his plan, set his foundry on fire and is finally taken to the asylum...
