Story

Shugendo reached its peak during the medieval period in Japan, but the Meiji government decreed the separation of Shinto and Buddhism, and the Shugendo sect was banned in 1872. The film vividly portrays the activities of Shugendo practitioners led by Ryoei Takagi, a priest of Seiganto-ji Temple on Mt. Nachi, who wish to revive Kumano Shugendo, the general participants, and the supporters led by the Shingu Yamabiko group who helped to revive Kumano Shugendo.
