Story

Mikami is rough and temperamental, but he is also sincere and kind and cannot look away from those in need. He has spent most of his life in prison as a convicted murderer. A young man working for TV approaches Mikami who desperately tries to start life anew. Miwa Nishikawa’s film adaptation of Ryuzo Saki’s “Mibuncho (Prison Papers)” is a controversial piece portraying endearing and pathetic qualities of human nature and lights and shadows of society.
