Students attend the high school evening classes for various reasons. Some work during the day. Others are misfits who have dropped out of ordinary high schools. Documentary filmmaker Naoko Ota follows with her camera a class of students through their four years at the evening school and their lives thereafter. The mortified teenagers find their haven in the classroom, where they are loved, accepted and properly disciplined, while the teachers, parents and workers at the school share the fundamental joy of seeing the next generation grow.
