Soon after their joyous wedding, dancer Kamar’s husband Zaid is detained by Israeli police for refusing to give up his family’s land. Kamar is torn between her duties as a supportive wife and her love of dance. When a new choreographer Kais, who has recently returned from Lebanon, joins her troupe with innovative ideas for new steps and begins to focus his attention on Kamar, matters become increasingly complicated. Depicting the realities of life in Palestine today, “Pomegranates and Myrrh” is the first full-length film by writer and director Najwa Najjar.
