As part of exchange program with the International Women’s Film Festival in Seoul (IWFFIS), AIWFF 2010 screens seven Korean short films on 8 and 10 September.
The Korean Short Films 2 presents the following four award-winning short films.
Garivegas
- 2005/19 min.
- Director: Kim Sun-min
Most of the inhabitants of Garivegas are working-class people from Korea or Southeast Asia. Sun-hwa is leaving the area due to the change in her working environment, which results from the increasingly streamlined state
of Korean society today.
Feel Good Story
- 2004/36 min.
- Director: Lee Kyoung-mi
Meticulous Ji-young and careless Hee-jin work in the same office. As they work overtime together, tension mounts between the very different two. Lee Kyoung-mi of “Blush and Crush” deftly depicts antipathy and sympathy between women.
Oh! Beauriful Life
- 2003/16 min.
- Director: Kim In-suk
During a demanding job interview, a woman suddenly launches into a rap performance about her tragic life up to the present. A tragicomedy in MTV style that won the Best Short Film Award at International Women’s Film Festival in Seoul.
To Be
- 1996/4 min.
- Director: Park Chan-ok
A woman revolting against men around her accidentally touches another woman aboard a crowded train on a summer night. A taciturn and intense portrayal of desire lurking in a woman that won awards at International Women’s Film Festival in Seoul.
