Graduated Film Director from the National Polish Film School in Lodz, Poland and MA in Film Production at Northern School of Film & TV, Leeds University in the UK. Kathrine Windfeld directed several shorts including “Little Man” (2002) which won an award at the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival. She worked simultaneously as 1st AD on DR’s (Danish National Television) Emmy-winning TV-Series Unit 1 (2003) and The Eagle (2003) as well as the feature film “Angels in fast Motion” (2004). Her professional breakthrough as a director came with the Swedish Emmynominated TV-series “The Crown Princess” (2005) based on Hanne-Vibeke Holsts bestseller. She followed up the success with the TV-series “The Regicide” (2007), also based on a novel by Hanne-Vibeke Holst. She returned to DR in 2007 working as conceptual director on the highly acclaimed TV-Series “Summer”. She debuts as feature film director with “The Escape”.
