In the early 1990s, Kanao, a courtroom portrait artist, and his wife Shoko happily wait for the coming of their first child. One year later, however, Shoko falls into a deep depression by the death of their baby and Kanao does not know how to help her. As the years go by, Shoko falls deeper and deeper into depression but Kanao’s calm demeanor eventually pulls her out of the abyss.
